Prof Anupam Nanda

Anupam is Professor of Urban Economics & Real Estate at the University of Manchester (see facts & figures).

 

Anupam currently leads the real estate group as a Full Professor. He is a board member of the European Real Estate Society.

He holds several fellowships -

FRSA - Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce);
FRGS - Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (The Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers);
FHEA - Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK;
 

Previously, he worked at the University of Reading/Henley Business School for almost a decade, and with the Market Intelligence group of Deloitte & Touche in Mumbai, where his focus area covered real estate and private equity sectors. He was at National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington DC, as Senior Research Economist, where his responsibilities included developing and implementing housing market research studies and member of the forecasting team for US state and metro area housing markets.

Anupam holds UG, PG and PhD degrees in Economics, and he has almost fifteen years experience as a researcher, educator and consultant.

Anupam's research specialisms are: real estate finance, investor sentiment & behaviour, cross-border investment; economics of property markets; urban & regional economies; housing market dynamics; impact of infrastructure projects and policy evaluation; Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) issues in property markets.

Teaching units are: Advanced Real Estate Finance, Project-based Enquiry and dissertations.
